The Woolery Stone Mill
The Woolery Stone Mill, a once hard-working limestone mill featured in Breaking Away, can be found about one mile east of Indiana State Road 37 on the southern edge of Bloomington, Indiana. Still on the site are remnants of monumental limestone blocks which echo the heritage of our adopted hometown. The massive glass and steel frame of the mill tempts us to imagine the edifices around the world built from the stones that were cut here. We love this simultaneously worldy yet uniquely Bloomington location. We can't wait to join our friends and family as we carve out our own start here with both the wedding ceremony and our reception. Directions to the Woolery Stone Mill, 2200 W. Tapp Road
From downtown Bloomington:

Go south on College Ave until it merges with S. Walnut Street. Continue to the intersection of S. Walnut and Country Club Drive. Turn right onto Country Club Drive.
From the North:

Take IN-37 South from Interstate 465 (Indianapolis). Go about 47 miles until you reach Bloomington, then turn left at the traffic signal onto Tapp Road. The Mill will be on your left. Look for a drive lined with cranes and limestone blocks. Pass the Bloomington Country Club golf course (on your left). Continue to the next Stop sign. Go straight. You are now on Tapp Road. After you pass through the roundabout, go up a small hill and back down, the Woolery Stone Mill entrance will be on your right.
From the South:

Take I-65 N to Indiana State Road 46 in Columbus. Follow Indiana-46 West to Bloomington. You'll be on East 3rd Street. Turn Left at the traffic signal at Smith Road which becomes Rogers Road and then becomes Winslow Road and then becomes Country Club Drive. Pass the Bloomington Country Club golf course (on your left). Continue to the next Stop sign. Go straight. You are now on Tapp Road. After you pass through the roundabout, go up a small hill and back down, the Woolery Stone Mill entrance will be on your right.
